Timothy Fosu-Mensah set to join Bayer Leverkusen in Β£1.5m transfer after rejecting new Manchester United deal
The Dutchman has started just two matches so far this term but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had been keen to extend the defenderβs contract, which expires at the end of the season.
However, the former Ajax ace is concerned about a lack of playing time at Old Trafford and he turned down Unitedβs last proposal.
That left United with a decision to make on Fosu-Mensahβs future and the club have decided to cash in now while they can.
Former club Ajax showed interest in the Dutchman but the Manchester Evening News claim the defender has opted to join German club Leverkusen.

Despite his ambition to return to Ajax, Leverkusen are willing to put up Β£1.5m for Fosu-Mensah and meet the defenderβs wage demands. Solskjaer is a fan of Fosu-Mensah but United are well stocked in defence and the Norwegian confirmed last week that the Dutchman was likely to leave.
βIβm not sure if he will stay or if heβs going to take an option now,β Solskjaer said. βHeβs not played enough, so of course heβs been allowed to speak to clubs with a view to leaving now in January.β βItβs difficult when you have good players, talented players, and you canβt give them game-time.
Heβs now at the stage where he needs to go and play again. βIt might be end of January or in the summer where he finds somewhere else, heβs working hard so heβs ready for a move for any club he feels ready for.β
