Cristiano Ronaldo was not happy after being taken off during Manchester United’s victory against Brentford on Wednesday, but Ralf Rangnick was quick to resolve the outburst during Manchester United’s victory against Brentford on Wednesday, but Ralf Rangnick was quick to resolve the outburst
All eyes were on Cristiano Ronaldo on Wednesday evening following his fiery reaction to being substituted by Ralf Rangnick.
With Manchester United 2-0 ahead against Brentford, the Portuguese superstar was replaced by club captain Harry Maguire.

Ronaldo was clearly unhappy with Rangnick’s decision, looking frustrated and petulantly throwing his coat down on the bench.
His reaction was mocked by the Brentford fans and became an instant talking point, adding more pressure on Rangnick’s shoulders.
The German, however, was keen to quash Ronaldo’s outburst and is believed to have immediately spoken to his player about the switch.
“I know you’re ambitious to score but maybe in two years’ time when you are a head coach like me and in the same position you’ll understand,” Rangnick said to Ronaldo, as quoted by journalist Miguel Delaney.
United went on to beat Brentford 3-1 in west London thanks to goals from Anthony Elanga, Mason Greenwood and Marcus Rashford. In his post-match interview, Rangnick was happy to explain the substitution and Ronaldo’s outburst with the press.”I didn’t expect him to hug me after being substituted,” said the interim manager. “I have no issues whatsoever with Cristiano. I’ve been here six weeks and never had any issue with him – none whatsoever.”
Speaking to BBC Sport, Rangnick added: “He was not happy but he came back from injury. I was happy to have him on board for today’s game, especially after Edinson Cavani could not train.
“I told him [Ronaldo] we were 2-0 up and we have to learn lessons from Villa Park. After that game, I was angry with myself for not changing to a back five.”Today was exactly the same situation and I did not want to make the same mistake again.”I said, ‘Listen, Cristiano, you are 36 and in great shape, but when you are a head coach, you will see it through the glasses of a head coach.'”My job is to take the decisions in the best interest of the team and the club and I hope he sees it the same way.”
