The Brazilian superstar has constantly been linked with a return to Spain ever since his record-breaking switch to Parc des Princes. Neymar asserts that the ‘idea of leaving’ Paris Saint-Germain has not even crossed his mind in recent times.
The former FC Barcelona star caused a stir a few days back by publicizing his desire to reunite with Lionel Messi.
Rumors have since been surfacing linking Messi, who is supposedly ready to walk out the Camp Nou exit door, with a move to PSG as well as Neymar with a return to Barca.
The fact that the 28-year-old forward is yet to renew his contract with the Ligue 1 champions despite his current set to expire at the end of next season has been a contributing factor to his exit rumors.
PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi insisted on Wednesday that he is “very confident” regarding the star player’s contract extension, and Neymar now also sees his long-term future at the French capital.
“I am very happy here in Paris. I am very happy at the club, with my team-mates,” he told RMC Sport after bagging a hat-trick against Istanbul Basaksehir to send his side through to the knockout stages of the Champions League.
“The idea of leaving does not occur to me. We have to discuss [my contract]. We have a very good relationship, I am very happy and we’ll see what happens in the future.”
