The 18-year-old striker entered the Premier League record books on Monday night for Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Fabio Silva has broken Cristiano Ronaldo’s record as the youngest Portuguese goalscorer in Premier League history after scoring against Burnley on Monday.

The Portugal U-20 international scored his first goal in the English top-flight at 18 years and 155 days – 114 days earlier than Ronaldo managed.

Cristiano scored his first Premier League goal against Portsmouth on November 1, 2003, at Old Trafford by drilling home a superb free-kick. He was only 18 years and 269 days old at the time of the event.

Silva also became the youngest Premier League goalscorer in Wolves’ history (as per Opta) and the league’s second-youngest player to score a penalty after Michael Owen did so for Liverpool against Wimbledon in August 1997 at 17 years and 238 days old.
Breaking records, of course, is nothing new for Silva.
The teenager is the Primeira Liga’s youngest debutant and FC Porto’s youngest starter (17 years, 2 months, & 6 days). He is also the Portuguese league’s youngest goalscorer (17 years & 3 months) of all-time.
But while Silva’s strike earned him a spot in the record books yet again, Wolves still lost 2-1 to Burnley on Monday night.
