Karim Benzema goes through the same routine prior to every game. The Frenchman puts on his boots before lifting his right foot in the air. That’s where the ‘magic’ happens as the Real Madrid physio touches it with his hand and probably charges his shoe with some superpower in such a way.

The same act is repeated with the left boot.

Now, the striker is ready to come out on the pitch. The reporter asked the physio what was the meaning of the gesture.

“The gesture is to bring him luck. Always,” he replied.Asked if he does that only with Benzema, he said: “Yes, only with Karim. I touch his boots.”
